Guest Lecture... No1

It was a pleasure to be asked to present my ideas as a graphic designer to second year BA students on the topic of Research and how it impacts a designers working life.

Albert Einstein once said of conventional education: “Most teachers waste their time by asking questions that are intended to discover what the pupil does not know, whereas the true art of questioning is to discover what the pupil does know or is capable of knowing.”

My talk was about RGB - Research Gains Business.... the true potential for making money as a freelance designer is researching your client, preparing the background of your design influences and then making designs worthy of your project.

I supplied a visual for the students to help them remember my talk and to try and fit their RSA projects to the format using RGB research.

Here are some image of the students working together in groups of their common interest RSA projects. They found out that each of them has approached the same question differently, which proves that our viewpoint is unique. They also shared their findings with each other, and talked about her ideas, almost as a team... they were impressed with this.

Many thanks to the students for listening, and for the exploration of the topic in their projects.
